Charity of the Year 2024 – The Dream Factory
Bionical Emas is delighted that The Dream Factory has been selected as their Charity of the Year 2024.
Avril Mills BEM set up The Dream Factory in 2008 in memory of her son Oliver, who tragically passed away from Leukaemia aged nine in 1999. While Oliver was ill, Avril helped to grant a dream to a little boy who wanted to visit a football club. That day, Oliver said, ‘Mum, when I grow up, I want to grant dreams just like you.’ Sadly, Oliver never got that chance, but the premise for The Dream Factory was founded. Since 2008, they have granted over 670 dreams in his memory.
The Dream Factory aims to brighten lives and encourage hope for children and young adults aged between 3 and 25 years who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and /or severe disabilities by way of granting wishes and dreams. They aim to do everything possible to grant a child’s dream, which could be to meet their favourite celebrity or sporting hero, live the lifestyle of a millionaire for the day, own a laptop, or the latest mobile phone. They could choose to take a magical trip to Disneyland Paris or be a princess or even a zookeeper for the day. No wish is too small. All the dreams are made possible with the invaluable help of the fabulous Dream Makers, who are all volunteers.
‘We are so proud to be supporting The Dream Factory as our chosen charity this year to enable the Dream Makers to make such a difference to people’s lives.’ Tom Watson, CEO, Bionical Emas
‘I am so grateful and overwhelmed that a company like Bionical Emas has chosen The Dream Factory as its charity of the year. Thank you so much to everyone for their support. With your help, we will make more dreams come true.’ Avril Mills, BEM, Founder, The Dream Factory
