Charity of the Year 2025 – RareQoL

Bionical Emas is delighted to announce that RareQoL has been selected as their Charity of the Year 2025. This collaboration will assist RareQoL’s ambition to advance inclusive research, health equity, and patient-centric approaches for rare diseases and minority ethnic communities.

RareQoL is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals, families, and those affected by rare diseases and long-term health challenges, particularly those from marginalized communities.  The RareQoL mission is to empower diverse communities, bridge gaps in care, and advance the principles of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).  They make impactful change through advocacy, education, research, and collaboration with healthcare providers, charities, academic institutions, and the pharmaceutical industry.

This collaboration will also support the Equality Diversity and Inclusive Research Association (EDIRA) to drive forward inclusive research practices and foster a more equitable healthcare landscape. EDIRA actively engages people from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and experiences, ensuring that each individual’s voice is heard and valued. This diversity creates a richer, fairer representation of the communities served. If you’d like to learn more about this initiative, please follow this link: https://rareqol.com/edira-25/

‘We are proud to support RareQoL in their efforts to improve patient access, champion diversity, and drive progress in the rare disease space. Their work closely aligns with our company’s values and signals our commitment to patient advocacy and making a meaningful impact for underserved communities.’              Tom Watson, CEO, Bionical Emas

‘Having the support of Bionical Emas is a significant milestone for RareQoL and EDIRA. Our shared vision aligns with one of the underlying themes of The Rare Disease Framework in which the patient voice is prioritised. Bionical Emas actively supports RareQoL’s dedication to advancing equity in healthcare, clinical trials, and early access programs for rare disease and minority ethnic communities.’             Dr. Sondra Butterworth, CEO of RareQoL
